What Readers Are Saying

Highly recommended as a resource for learning about indigenous peoples in Canada, but also just a charming book in its own right that will appeal to children across the globe.

I personally didn’t know anything about Métis before, and found the book very accessible for children. This book would be a great addition to libraries, classrooms and homes.

Metis Like Me is a wonderful book that touches on what it can be like being a modern Indigenous child. As a Native American myself (Cherokee) reading through this story it was easy to see the similarities in life experiences, even though our tribes are very different.

Métis Like Me brought a little tear to my eye near the end! This is a truly lovely picturebook. I would definitely read this book in a storytime and recommend it through readers advisory.
